On this issue, and on every issue in the world, simple solutions never solve complicated problems. With that being said, I firmly believe that the best solution to a problem is a cohesive middle ground. While I don't quite agree with the position that Pope Francis espouses, I strongly oppose the typical right wing rhetoric by individuals such as Donald Trump. I think a team of professionals and scholars in law, politics, Islam, and psychology should form a group and together come up with a realistic, tangible solution to this problem.

He's right. Refugees are escaping terrorism. Surely some want to help defeat those terrorists as well.

Christianity has always taught tolerance to the point of where it endangers people. Look at how high the rapes, murders, theifts, ect, have gone up since all these 'refugees' have entered. And we're suppose to sit back and tolerate it because some jew in the sky said we would burn if we don't? That we're suppose to sit back and allow it to happne because 'they don't know to react to our society'. I'm sorry but they should pay for it, not us. If they want to be like animals, treat them as such.

I think he is a Christian, who is preaching love, acceptance and peace as I would hope most good Christians do (I'm not a Christian)

"Love your enemies" "treat others how you would want to be treated"

Either you're a Christian, and you hate Jesus's teachings. Or you're not a Christian, which makes me wonder why you even give a flying fudge what the pope thinks

Easy for him to say when he's guarded 24/7 and lives behind gates and walls.

I saw an interesting list on Facebook the other day (make of it what you will)...

It said that Americans are 10 times more likely to be killed by a toddler with a gun than a terrorist (based on actual deaths since 9/11).

They are 8,500 times more likely to be killed by another American with a gun than a terrorist.

The church has long been quite insane on the topic of welcoming murderers into their midst.

That would be fine with me, if only they weren't welcoming those people into OTHERS' midsts.

If you treat people like scum, they will act like it. When people are hated, it becomes easier for that people to become violent extremists.

Should they be welcomed with open arms? No. They should be screened like anyone else. And should they pass the screening process, admited like everyone else.

proof that, like everything else, White European Christianity has been run into the mud (literally)
