If a student that you strongly dislike messaged you on social media saying that they just overdosed, would you report it to the police or would you just delete the message and pretend it didn't exist? Would you be worried about the student even if you dislike them?

    As an educator, you are a mandated reporter and must report all potential incidents to the proper authorities. Even if the student is lying, you could be held liable in a court of law for failure to report.
